What does your organisation do?
Campbell Page is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making a difference in our communities. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to be seen, a chance to be heard and a chance to thrive. For over thirty years, community has been at the heart of what we do. We provide disability employment support and employment services in our communities, as well as community development, youth, Indigenous and family programs.
Why did you become a Digital Springboard delivery partner?
To offer a new and exciting workshop to young people who are transitioning from secondary education into employment. We thought a digital literacy platform would be perfect for our younger cohorts who love iPads, phones and computers. At the moment, we’re piloting Digital Springboard as part of our school-based ‘Be-Discovered’ Program that is delivered on campus in multiple specialist schools all around Melbourne. It provides an alternative pathway into a career of choice for many of our customers other than conventional tertiary education.
What are your community’s needs, and how will Digital Springboard help?
Many of our young people experience additional barriers into employment such as an Intellectual Disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is why we jumped on board with Digital Springboard because many young people feel like they can be themselves online. For our customers, it’s a fun space where they can concentrate on being unique, such as using Canva and other digital tools introduced by Digital Springboard. It’s all about providing something new and innovative for these customers and equipping them with practical skills to use now and in the future.
Who are you delivering Digital Springboard courses to?
We’re delivering Digital Springboard to secondary school students between the ages of 15 – 20 within our local neighbourhoods. While this is just the beginning, we do look forward to growing our partnership with Infoxchange by holding joint events and BBQ’s available to all in the community.
Which courses, and why?
To start with, we’re delivering the resume and cover-letter courses: ‘Build your CV’ and ‘Write a cover letter’. What’s offered is so versatile and allows us to put our own spin on these. In other words, we can change and adapt the content to specifically cater to our customers varying needs.
